"It is time
now to lead ourselves and our planet back into a state of
balance and harmony. By reconnecting to the natural cycles we
can awaken to our full, true power. Attuning ourselves to the
flow and order of the universe realigns us with our natural
power and destiny. As we re-enter the natural flow we open our
cells of receptivity. Our intuition is heightened. Our innate
sense of knowing is stimulated so that we may remember who we
really are and why we are here. Excerpt from: A Return to Natural Time by Dana Before we start on the Mayan Calendar it’s a good idea to get a visual image of it. See it as being made up of 13 columns each consisting of 20 days. There are 20 different glyphs in the calendar each representing a particular energy and potential. So, one calendar cycle consists of 260 days. Every 13 days a new wavespell starts with it’s own energetic message and imprint which flows as a dominant theme throughout the 13 days. I will cover these wavespells more during 2005. And of course each of the days in the 13 day cycles are numbered, from 1 to 13 thankfully, and yes each number has its own special meaning. Confused? Don't worry, most people are when they first start getting their head around the complex mathematics that is the Mayan Calendar. Get yourself a laminated wall chart (link below) and it will make things a lot easier. It doesn't take long to learn, and once you do it's a fun and easy process, you just follow the boxes day by day! Every 3-8 days the Calendar has a Portal Day. A Portal Day is a day of acceleration, where the energies of Heaven and Earth unite to speed up our personal and planetary evolution. These days can give you anything from a rush of creativity, an energetic boost or drop, unexpected events and happenings, a dose of the flu or extreme moodiness depending on what most needs to occur for your personal body/mind/heart/spirit alignment process. Occasionally there are two Portal Days in a row. Once in every calendar cycle as we approach the central column of the Calendar we are blessed with an amazing block of Portal Days and Core Days. The Core Days are the spinal column of the Mayan Calendar, that is the central column of 20 days. The block starts with 10 Portal Days in a row then 5 standard days, followed by the 20 Core Days then 5 standard days, and concluding with another 10 Portal Days. The Core Days are especially intense and provide opportunities for deep cleansing, releasing and shifting. They call us to become centred by focusing on the NOW, letting go of all past and future attachments, expectations and fears. The more you focus on the present moment and allow things to happen as they need to the easier this period will flow. Portal and Core Days aside for a
moment there is a particularly intense energetic environment
happening at the moment. We are absolutely being pushed and
pulled like never before. Old parts of ourselves are dying. New
parts of ourselves are moving in. With all this coming and going
it’s hard sometimes to know who we really are and where it is
that we are going. What is our truth and what is our illusion? If you want to align yourself with the Mayan Calendar, and keep track of upcoming Portal and Core Days, get a copy of the Mayan Calendar book and an easy to follow laminated chart at: Aluna Joy Centre of the Sun.
